Would you like to join us as a Shop Manager (full time or part time)
in our Re-Use It shop at 62a West Street, Dorking?

An exciting opportunity to be part of our supported employment project. We run a successful charity shop staffed by young people with learning disabilities with the support and guidance of a shop manager. The primary purpose of the job is to enable young people with a learning disability to engage in worthwhile voluntary employment, learn retail skills and prepare them for their next step of paid employment. This post can be part time or full time. Training in SEN is provided.

The shop is currently open for five days a week, 9.00am – 5.00pm.

This post can be full time or a job share, e.g. mornings or afternoons or two/three days a week.

The full time equivalent salary is £24,000 pa and you will automatically be part of the NEST pension scheme unless you choose to opt out.

Key responsibilities are: 

  1. To manage ALDAG’s charity shop in Dorking ensuring effective management of a small staff team of trainees with a learning disability and the development of their retail skills

  2. To manage and retain a rota of volunteers and ensure that they understand the primary purpose of the shop, with no more than one volunteer working in the shop at any time

  3. To provide a high quality retail service and achieve sales targets

  4. To ensure that all appropriate standards of security and health and safety are met
